Kaizer Chiefs have been handed a significant boost ahead of their return to continental football after receiving a bye in the first preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
The South African giants will not be required to play in the opening qualifying round and will instead enter the competition directly at the second preliminary round, giving them additional time to prepare for their continental campaign.
The bye provides Amakhosi with a favourable route into the tournament as they set their sights on progressing to the group stage and challenging for African honours.
Kaizer Chiefs' supporters will be encouraged by the development as the club looks to make a strong impression on its return to the CAF Confederation Cup.
